Texas A&M AgriLife Receives Funding for Black Spot, Rose Rosette Diseases Research

Drs. David Byrne and Oscar Riera-Lizarazu will be co-leading a team of over 20 researchers from across the country who are dedicated to building sustainable rose landscapes that are resistant to black spot disease and the rose rosette virus. These are the two most damaging diseases the rose industry faces and the goal of this project is to develop roses that require fewer inputs and are able to withstand the stressors in their environment.
